Come on down to 107 Station Rd for a cuppa and a slice of cake and support the village is saving our valuable farmland from the greedy developers and district council.

The Warboys village group – Green Not Grey have been campaigning to save the farming field on Station Road, next to Fentex from being developed by the Longhurst Group and Huntingdon District Council.

In what some would say an underhand move, Huntingdon District Council, who own the land, seem to be ignoring all of the original guidance and recommendations laid out by consultants and experts that the agricultural land is not suitable to build upon. More importantly the land is prime grade 2 agricultural land and short term decisions to for lining the councils pockets We have recently entered a further 350 letters of objection to the council and are now waiting to hear when the planning committee will meet to discuss the application.

We are not going to roll over and let this happen. A group of us met in the field on Saturday the 4th of March 2023 with the aim to make a visible stand against the planning application. There were 42 of us on our first meet.

We are now planning on holding a regular weekend meet up until the planning committee meeting is shared with the aim of getting publicity via local papers, radio and ideally local TV. We understand the next planning meeting is due to be on the 3rd Monday of the month, however have been advised it is likely to be in April

Our next meeting is Saturday the 11th of March at 10:00 outside 107 Station Rd, where we will have Tea, Coffee and Cake (donations welcome). We almost had 50 for the group photo, so we want to push towards at least 100 for the next photo. With our ultimate goal of getting at least all of our 350 members on our Facebook group to attend the final meeting.

Please come and support the group and your village.
