Come on down to 107 Station Rd and support the village in saving our valuable farmland from the greedy developers and district council.

The Warboys village group – Green Not Grey have been campaigning to save the farming field on Station Road, next to Fentex from being developed by the Longhurst Group and Huntingdon District Council.

In what some would say “an underhand move, Huntingdon District Council, who own the land, seem to be ignoring all of the original guidance and recommendations laid out by consultants and experts that the agricultural land is not suitable to build on. The land in question is grade 2 prime agricultural land. Short term decisions by the council seem to be focused on lining their pockets and disregarding the concerns of the village residents, the government and future generations.

Feedback from the planning committee suggests the application is not due to be discussed in July and they could not provide any further information at the time this post went live today.

Feedback from the group said “We are not going to roll over and let this happen. A group of us have met in the field once a month with the aim to make a visible stand against the planning application.

We are planning on holding the next Cuppa & Cake event on Sunday the 30th of July at 2pm outside 107 Station Rd, where we will have Tea, Coffee and Cake (donations welcome).

Please come and support the group and your village.
